What do you wish computers did that they do not do? Or what do you wish was vastly improved? (Include your mobile thumb computers and your game consoles and your smart speakers and your cars, etc, in this question.)

I wish they helped me be a better person, tell me when I'm not listening to other people or when to be more kind, or when to be more assertive and ask for what I deserve. I wish they helped me find the information I didn't even know I needed to hear.

I wish they could tell me the total carbon footprint of things I buy, this should be reasonably possible. If buying X crackers and not Y had an impact because of packaging, trucking distances, farming practices, etc, I'd make a lot more decisions like that.

I hate to say it but: I would, too. Everything should have its approximate carbon footprint marked on it.

The food we eat is 60-70% of our carbon footprint and beef has 10x the impact of other protein choices. It matters. Lifestyles make a difference. You can't undo your footprint but driving instead of flying and not eating meat can reduce your footprint to well below the average

Anyway I didn't intend to turn this into a beef conversation but there are other things I'm sure are having an impact, like half of everything in the grocery store has palm oil in it which is causing deforestation of the rainforest https://www.rainforest-rescue.org/topics/palm-oil#petition …

If there was a number next to the price showing the carbon footprint of everything we buy the world would be a better place I think it's not difficult to imagine. Not everything would benefit from more tech but this thread is all about what it could do positively so
