Personal update:
Despite thinking my name was boring for most of my life, I kept it. Changing it didn't "feel right".
I also chatted to and about name changes and other narratives that underpin marriage.

i have a, what i like to call, “default” last name… yet i chose to still latch onto it and simply extend my husband’s last name to mine 💛
i guess when it comes down to it, your name has been you for your entire life… and to just let it go is tough!

Exactly! For years I wanted to change my name bc I thought it was boring, but 28 years in... it's my name.
