This blew up. I think actually this shows why the use if algorithms can be a positive thing - it's much, much easier to identify problems and prejudices if they're written down. The issue is - how transparent are organisations and governments about them? newstatesman.com/politics/stagg

Oh jeez. Good to know that the big brains at Stanford think our first step in educating our new AI overlords should be an attempt to force the same absurd classification systems our brains and societies have forced us to use.
