This is as close as I’ve seen a politician come to (correctly) explaining that the problem with the 1% isn’t that they’re not PAYING their fair share of taxes but that they’re TAKING more than their fair share of income.https://twitter.com/NYCMayor/status/1087042984728821762 …

Tapper showing his colors. Right after BdB references policies designed to shift the money to different hands, Tapper then asks “But who decides who gets the money?” BdB just said that one party decided who gets the money!

He could have gone further, explaining how the 1% rigs the tax/trade/banking/etc. legislation/rules. This is *how* the money ends up in the hands of the 1%. Lawmakers on both sides have (largely) handed over the the writing of the rules to lobbyists and special interests.

Same goes for food. The is enough food, just some don't have the money to buy what they need.

SO WELL SAID. If sharehlolder vote on executive pay was binding, might fix some of it. But people paying $3000 for a football game don't help either. >70% tax rate purpose was to discourage Silly Pay but I've sure been attacked for saying THAT!

“The money was all appropriated for the top in the hopes that it would trickle down to the needy. Mr. Hoover didn’t know that money trickled up. Give it to the people at the bottom and the people at the top will have it before night, anyhow.” Will Rodgers

They never "hoped" the money would trickle down to the needy. There's a difference between motivation and motivational speaking.
