    The increase of flickers at our feeder have made me seriously consider their merits as a fantasy sidekick. Like I love the drama of crows and hawks as much as anyone, but imagine a beautiful, foot long woodpecker with a deadly knife beak sitting on your shoulder.

    Also, Pebbles is MUCH happier now that we're home from the vets and things are Much More As They Should Be. (My theory is that the anti-inflammatory injection she got also helped her feel better, but she thinks that has nothing to do with it. ;p )

    Thanks so much for all the good wishes! I emerged unscathed from the vet trip, but poor Pebbles had to have a blood test which she did not enjoy (and I don't think the vet & vet techs enjoyed it either). We all need some comfort now! (And we'll get the test results later.)

    Please wish me luck all 'round as I brace myself to force Pebbles into the hated cat-carrier (for the first time in a full year!) to get her to the vets for a suspected infection. Poor kitty!
