I always told my journalists, there aren’t two sides to a lie. Yes, you should be non-partisan, but not neutral. Journalists must be biased in favor of the truth and facts. Biased in favor of democracy itself. We protect the press so the press can protect democracy. Let’s do that

This is what country before party sounds like. Thank you.

Thank you to the men and women of the United States military who were responsible for completing the mission to shoot down the Chinese surveillance balloon. The Biden Administration did the right thing in bringing it down.

I was in a meeting where Donald Trump asked a group of us to lay off XI and China telecom ZTE because he promised XI, and he doesn’t want to disappoint him. Bolton wrote about this, I can confirm. I was shocked.

1) according to John Bolton trump begged Xi for help in 2020. Tough to be strong when begging.

One good thing about the whole balloon episode is that it taught people on the right that balloon has two Ls in it like folly and two Os like buffoon.

And the difference is, Biden shot it down and Trump didn’t. Now, who is full of hot air?

Hmm, yes, re your first question. According to defense officials, at least one Chinese surveillance balloon was tracked over the US during the Trump admin, according to the Associated Press. twitter.com/Jim_Jordan/sta…

Just saying, but I don't think the 519,000 Americans who got new jobs in January are all that worried about inflation.

Would Trump have let China fly a spy balloon over our country? Would Reagan? JFK? Truman? No, no, no, and no. So why’s Biden letting China off the hook?

Marjorie Taylor Greene said that Sandy Hook and Parkland were staged and the parents are actors and the kids are really still alive. Republicans just put her on the committee that oversees school safety. But Ilhan Omar…

Just heard on TV a third grade FL teacher say that all books were removed from her classroom to comply with new state law. A state appointed “media specialist” will determine which books are acceptable. This is happening all over the state. Welcome to the free state of Florida.

Whatever you may think of critical race theory, or transgender kids playing sports, is there any one who really thinks these are even among the top 1000 issues we face as a nation?

Ever since Ronald Reagan said, "Government is not the solution to our problem, gov't is the problem," one party has relentlessly run down government while relentlessly seeking to run it and increase its size while enacting tax cuts that increase our debt.

Trump goes all in on preferring Putin to the U.S. government. It’s good to have clarity on this. And it’s an opportunity for all those Republicans who plan to run against Trump and all those who say they want to move beyond Trump, to step up publicly and say: Never Again Trump.

If you’re a Black man, there’s nothing “routine” about a traffic stop. As the General Counsel of a major company, I was stopped because my car’s tinted windows were too dark. The officer wanted to know how I could afford such a car: Was I a drug dealer?

Covering the 2024 campaign as a horserace is a disservice to voters. Treating an illegitimate candidate as legitimate is a disservice to democracy.
Quote Tweet
Coverage I've seen of Trump campaign trip is all 2024 horserace. Jan. 6 not mentioned. Understandable but suggests the price we've paid for no indictments, no trial, no real reckoning for Jan. 6. Trump treated as normal candidate, not a president who tried to subvert an election.

If the Santos' campaign fabricated donors, I would expect federal indictments soon. That would be a serious crime and an easy one to prove and prosecute.

New: We've identified more than a dozen top donors to Santos' 2020 campaign who do not seem to exist. I also spoke to a friend of Santos' who says he did not give the $2,800 donation attributed to him. motherjones.com/politics/2023/

Hey, kids! It's your old buddy Steve King telling you that if they ban a book in your school, haul your ass to the nearest bookstore or library ASAP and find out what they don't want you to read.

Remind me, senator, which one of us unveiled a plan to raise taxes on millions of working-class families, drawing rebukes from both parties? Hint: It wasn't me on.msnbc.com/3H6qF8Y I also wasn't the one who blew a hole in the budget with ineffective tax breaks for the wealthy

Liberals like @stevebenen hate tax cuts. They want hard-working Americans to pay more taxes so they can spend more money. But he’s right about one thing, tax breaks are in my 12-point plan to rescue America. Read it at rescueamerica.com msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-

Police who break the law by brutalizing and murdering citizens endanger the social contract and become outlaws. We need sweeping reforms to make sure officers act as servants of the law. This is a democratic imperative only achieved by nonviolent political action and organizing.
