I wish they'd crack down even harder on this. Eventually they'll run out of foreign brands to boycott and then what? People with have to make do with chinese made stuff. That's when the real riots will break out, in the mainland...

People here in Hong Kong are well aware of Cultural Revolution 2.0 sweeping through the city. Cathay Pacific and HSBC were the first victims of these 批鬥 (attack and persecution through public denouncement and humiliation.)
This is typical CCP tactics especially during the Cultural Revolution. In Chinese this is called (無限)上綱上線 (escalating an innocent or insignificant thing into a major accusation) and 扣帽子 (pinning a negative label on someone usually without compelling evidence).
