Good luck! It took me a good 50 hours to start getting into it once I got past the slog of fetch quests. I really enjoy it now, but for entirely different reasons from WoW for its casual gameplay like home decorating, mogs, instruments, and chill dungeon and raid roulettes.
I heard as well that once i get into it i have the long questlines that did not age well from what the latest content got? Aside of that most ppl i know do play it so i said to give it a shot! i like the mogs tha game has tho.

Yeah the beginning is... rough. It got much, much better once it got past that bit and finally got interesting. If it wasn't for people telling me to stick with it I doubt I would have gotten as far. It can be a very creative game once you get into fun stuff.

With Patch 5.3 the questing system for the base game got reworked so you shouldn't have to worry about that long slugs fast anymore. A lot of unnecessary quest content was removed.
