      A question about wow chat. I have been getting some whispers before by ppl i met in rps but never added them yet they somehow still can find me and send me whispers...how does that work?

      As others have said, anyone can /whisper you so long as they know your character name. Anyone can /friend or /who your character. Also, TRP3 allows you to "scan" a zone (even one you're not in!) for other same-faction players also running TRP3. and shows them on a map.

      You can block contact from someone else (and their alts!) with /ignore. If you don't want to be located via TRP3 zone scan, go into TRP3 Settings > Register Settings > Unclick "Enable Character Location". (This will disable your own ability to scan for others. too!)pic.twitter.com/6v4sN5eaM5

      You can player-scan with TRP3 from the map, by clicking the TRP3 scan button (default bottom-left). A scan gives you dots for all TRP3-users with location enabled. Default blue, with different colors based on TRP3 "relationship". (SW at 7am PT.)pic.twitter.com/hG6kPRVVZb

          When you combine it with TRP3 relationship status, it really shines. Just don't get meta with it. Scans use a hidden channel; it's technically possible to "see" when someone scans a zone, and also to return false info (no public addons for either, but it can and has been done.)
