When a man plays a female character Them: ew! When a woman plays a male character Them: Im ok with that. Bruh.

While who plays who shouldn’t ever matter, the hesitation comes because when a man plays a woman character there have been a lot of instances of fetishization, which make other players (namely women) very uncomfortable. It gives other genuine men-playing-women RPers a bad name.
I too am aware of the roots of all this. Which as sad as this may sound like but thats the reason i feel proud my main character is a male one.
