I'm just in a weird place where I'm like, clearly 6 months is a lot of time but I'm debating whether it's worth the effort to catch up properly if I'm only going to enjoy it for a few months (even less considering I don't even have essences lol)
I say give it a break like do play casualy whenever you feel like it. I for one since we stay at home i did rp 24/7 and now i hardly even do that i only go in to hang out
yeah I think I'll probably stick to my usual stuff bc that's what I enjoy the most. still I would love to gear up but I just wish the systems weren't so intimidating 
Gearing up looks scarier than it is. I didn't play at all in 8.2 and was put off from doing 8.3 content because I was so far behind. Started doing content again just a week ago or so and so far I've been pleasantly surprised by how little effort I've had to put in to catch up.
