I’ve never suffered more abuse on Twitter from anyone than you @jamesheathers Fwiw a twice yearly prune or a “three tweets and you’re out” approach keeps the front lawn very manageable

Twitter is not the same since they allow trumpeting.

The old Twitter is still there underneath. I use lists a lot. I have a medical one to doomscroll when needed.

Maybe I am sensitive to this, but I have also noticed a rise in stats/epi phd student hot takes recently in the form of either "here's this thing that the field has had trouble with for years, have you ever thought of x?" (Yes we have) and "hey guys I use r!" (Cool story)

If you've spotted a major flaw in thinking that affects an area that other smart people have been working on for decades, I recommend that you assume you're wrong and to keep reading until you've figured out what you are missing. You might still be right...but probably not.
