    If you've spotted a major flaw in thinking that affects an area that other smart people have been working on for decades, I recommend that you assume you're wrong and to keep reading until you've figured out what you are missing. You might still be right...but probably not.

    So has anyone ever managed to convince their "bosses" in academia that twitter (or social media more broadly) can actually be valuable for outreach/networking/etc, and gotten some recognition (like increased job security) for their efforts here? You did!? HOW??

    If my calculations are correct: it seems that with current technology we could train and appoint a bunch of medical doctors for less money than train and maintain some of the diagnostic algorithms optimized for one hospital. These docs may also be more environmentally friendly!
