The United States condemns violence on all sides in #HongKong. We extend our sympathies to victims of violence regardless of their political inclinations, and call for all parties— police and protestors— to exercise restraint. http://go.usa.gov/xpWP3 pic.twitter.com/aXBLYLhJnT

While condemning violence of civilians, pls look at the structural violence of govt We tried all peaceful ways possible for decades & only faced more suppression Peace can only last where human rights are respected, where the ppl are fed & where individuals & nations are free.pic.twitter.com/gRETRYUMcm

With 5mths of protests & 200M ppl, govt in democractic countries probably stepped down a few times. But the humanitarian crisis in HK only get worse day by day. Pls join the battle for human rights. We hope the Senate help put a halt to these abuses by putting HKHRDA to a vote.pic.twitter.com/NR9PzEDAHk

Thanks for the support from the US. Sincere communication is a cure to conflicts, but months of protests in HK proved that the HK Gov talked to only a selected few. There were many peaceful assemblies where Carrie Lam could simply talk to HKers on-site, but she never did.pic.twitter.com/KGnirL5zOx

For any meaningful communication, trust & empathy are needed. When HKers are mourning for a student who lost his life, the HK Gov expressed no condolence to those in grief. It only condemned facility damages. The public were enraged. A puppet gov of CCP has no empathy.pic.twitter.com/5QrPPI4ZuS

Unfortunately, there's only rule by law in #HongKong now. Had Carrie Lam listened to the public opinion in June, #HongKongProtests would've turned out very differently. While condemning physical violence, we mustn't overlook the context and the authority's lack of accountability.pic.twitter.com/6eX9wpT5v1

100% true. China insults and threatens the USA all the time. They can't afford to to soft on China.
