There's an astonishing amount of potential being squandered through the blanket barring of useful drone-related economic activity in the United States. Which is why many people are left to wonder what drones are even good for. It's not that they aren't useful — use isn't allowed.
There are some interesting attacks on the line of sight limitation. BNSF is flying them out in front of trains using track right of way as safe path. I think there are other ways of attacking this in the city, but also limitations around fuel/flight length.
