There's something remarkable about the explosion of scooters as an SF public transit category — it's that there *weren't* really electric scooters until they became accessible by sharing/app.
I am not counting boosted boards; only scooters in scooter form-factor.

Totally. There's been a ton of *scooters* on the embarcadero along my run route every morning. :)

I was counting them for a while about a year ago, and it was the same number as the boosted boards.

Both of these things can be true. I think you're more likely to see individually owned scooters on a morning commute route (embr) and rental scooters for shorter trips within the city.
