Today as I was cycling a man in a car merged into the bike lane to pull all the way over to the right before turning right at an intersection and I know this sounds minor but I was so grateful to that driver for doing exactly the right thing.

I don't know that I would call that the right thing.

I can't quite picture it either. You mean the car treated the bike lane like a real lane, instead of suddenly turning into & across it when it took its right turn?
