Today as I was cycling a man in a car merged into the bike lane to pull all the way over to the right before turning right at an intersection and I know this sounds minor but I was so grateful to that driver for doing exactly the right thing.
The number of times I’ve tried to explain the right hook to non-cycling drivers...
i rode for twenty years in sf. this is the only way i've been hit.
Here the traffic not turning always has the right of way and the car just waits until it is safe to turn right. I didn’t know the rules were that different in the US. This looks unsafe to me.
A cyclist may have to turn too.
