FB feature requests: Hide all engagement bait Hide all MLM offers Hide all “lost pet” posts that are >2 miles from my ZIP code I literally wonder how much content I’d have to comb through if I could do this. Maybe a max of 10-20 new posts a day? It would almost be manageable.

Facebook seems to be a weird product, where post quality improves the less you read it, but they will happily show you enough to fill as much time as you’ll give them.
Remember: only *your* Facebook experience has this quality — the newsfeed is trained on you but you can (to some extent) train it back.

I’ve been trying actively for months with “hide posts like these” and not having any luck. And I keep seeing the same posts over and over, so I don’t think “shows you as much as you’ll give time to” is right - I do a lot of middle of the night reading and it’s a loooot of repeat

I have a Twitter account that follows only a handful of people, and Twitter does this too—if there's not enough content, it just recommends random shit for you, so long as you're willing to scroll. Being able to finish your feed should be a right, dammit.

Ugh yes I haaaate the “so and so liked” bullshit and “you might be interested in” bullshit. I feel like Pinterest was the first to do the “you clearly can’t curate for yourself here let me fix that” and everyone has followed suit horribly.
