Hey internet. Help me answer a question. Which circuits or sections from The Art of Electronics did you find to be the most interesting, insightful, or noteworthy? (Electronics folks, please RT)

Op amp filters! Looking up more than a basic RC filter online rapidly descends into boring Chebyshev tables. Love the way they go through the bandpass/notch/twin T etc

I dunno about that, but the least useful thing was the schematics of bad circuits without explanations of why each was bad. Some were obvious to me, but others left me completely puzzled.

My AoE (2nd Ed) is bristling with post-it note flags. Looks like I've got them on: logic family input thresholds and output characteristics, "RS232 cables that really work," pseudorandom sequence generators, bus termination techniques, basic op-amp circuits, etc. #love

The entire filtering section, with the transfer functions illustrated in V-t, db-f, phase/time delay at filter orders = {1,2,4,8}, is a set of illustration I come back again and again to show the tradeoffs of filters. It’s the only resource I know where they’re all in one place.

The ones that are not quite so useful use parts not commonly available, obsolete, or very expensive compared to an easy to use analog. Understanding through (relatively easy) reproducibility. Students have limited funds and cannot buy trays of parts by the 1000.

I was working on a design for boost circuit and thought that part was well-written and I could read parts of it get what I needed. The intro is also useful for us who went to college too long ago.

O! And those transistor circuits... just the basics of biasing for switching mode versus amplification. Thats anouther thing I need a refresher on here and there.
