      Not you, that is, but the story. Ask yourself why this story, popping up repeatedly in different forms for 15+ years, is set in China. Yes, they've had tainted food scandals, but so have we. But it also shows up when there is tension with China, to incite fear and disgust.

      Hah, ugh! Here’s the thing: I was living in China then, and talked about this with other people about this issue which was news in China at the time! That’s where my recollections are from. I cite Time because I can’t cite those conversations.

      I must not have caught the update because my entire source of info then was word of mouth (being that I was locally illiterate). There’s an insight here..
