I seriously hope so too. I struggle with this with my mom. I keep discovering barbs of conspiracies and MLM bullshit stuck in her head. How do you fight such a thing? Easy access to the meat of it doesn't help. YouTube keeps recommend me perpetual motion machines.
Perhaps I seem to feel quite strongly about this — if so, it's because of having to have these arguments with people I love, and having to unwind a bottomless web of constructions that leave us barely sharing a consensus reality. I hope we find a way to repair all this soon.

It’s not often I stumble upon a key concept explained concisely, but “consensus reality” as the foundation for our ability/inability to communicate is part of my vocabulary now.
