In my mind, drone delivery would be feasible only for items constrained by size and weight. Make a cheap container, possibly of cardboard, and of standard shape. Then if it fits and is under weight limit, with a reasonable CoG, it ships locally by drone.
This post completely ignores arguments not related directly to the physics of the issue. God have mercy on you when you mention this to the FAA.
