Vending machines don't perform labor so I think they're autonomous convenience stores. (Humans do perform labor in traditional convenience stores)

You have to load and unload them. How is that different from setting up fasteners for an industrial robot to tighten or something?

Though arguably I am not involved except in the input step of their part of the clothing chain. I am locked out of the work they perform. Am I doing labor on the clothes when I am wearing them in preparing them for the laundry cycle? I may stick to my view that their robots.
