Perspective: the wingpsan of the 787 is longer than the distance of the first 2 flights (of 3 total) by the Wright Brothers.

Let's see.. Wright Flyer III apparently 710lbs MTOW and around 90lbf (internet). 787 Dreamliner is 502,500lbs MTOW and 64,000 lbf. Both about 7.8 W:T. Nice :)

Finn just told me the same thing yesterday (but about the first flight vs the 747).

Various 7*7s hold this distinction. I went for Dreamliner, but it's true also for the first jet airliner PanAm put in service in the late 50s, the 707..

Sweet! I trained in the K21 at Williams. You're at Crystalaire? (Is that your EZ?)

Yea that was my Longeze, I miss it. Yes Crystalaire. I was in the Silverado Soaring club for 10 years. We kept gliders at Calistoga,Truckee, Minden, Vacaville Crazy Creek in Middle Town and in Williams with Rex and Rusty. Started in Calistoga. Just getting back into soaring.
