Agreed, but very likely to decrease necessary parking infrastructure, which is still a large benefit.
-
"Decrease" I hope — as opposed to externalizing it to other parts of the region the way we do now.
-
The hope is more utilization of fewer vehicles.
-
With you there. What is the hope looking like these days for things like trains?
-
Depends on the train, but what do you mean? Do you mean self driving?
-
my question is more or less, what does the future look like over in rail-based transit?
-
Hopefully more trains in more places, going up to about 300km/hr. Not sure there’s a general theme beyond that. Economics currently runs out past 300km/hr with existing technology.
-
what does "runs out" mean here?

when you frame the projections in actual reality… yep. also television isn’t just for bringing the Met Opera to housewives in Iowa, and robots are more profitable if they carry weapons. Humans suck.
-
Zero armed robots operate today, millions in warehouses and factories.
-
You aren't counting aerial robots, are you?
-
There exists no autonomous armed aerial platform.
-
Your previous tweet didn't specify autonomous
-
Read the root tweet of the thread.
-
*shrug* You had plenty of chars to add-in "autonomous" & to be precise.
-
Whoah, dude. That's not how this works. The entire conversation has so far only been about autonomous vehicles.

Totally! Currently, minimum utilization of a ride is transporting one licensed driver and people hit this limit all the time. It's like we're see a preference curve censored on one end by a technical requirement.
-
Is it worth the cost of a ride to transport one child? What about one sandwich? Decisions are made on the margin.
