Like Do-Not-Disturb mode but instead Do-Not-Distract where airplane mode automatically turns on and prevents your outgoing TCP/IP other than stackoverflow and Wikipedia

Yup. Rewrites /etc/hosts to block access to fb/twitter/etc during work hours. Can override with sudo so I run it every 5 min to keep myself from doing that.

The key is to block “Hot Network Questions”. I wrote a local Chrome extension for that once

Yep! You can set up a CSS rule in ad blockers like uBlock to hide those sidebars.

I use Freedom app for this. It is wonderful. Though having it do that via a button with a plane on it would be ideal.

I use http://SelfControlApp.com  for this, but wish it were enforced at the router level so I couldn’t go on my phone either. Like I’m doing right now 😕

Router level or, I guess, neural level. @charliestigler @stevelambert Any plans for a brain implant? In the meantime, do you have any suggestions for Self Control-like tools for smartphones?
