Kinda like the years of ubiquitous serial: VAX to SPARCstation, SGI to Mac, weird telecom thing to PC, IBM AS/400 to . . . uh, nevermind.

Attempt at humor being AS/400s, unlike nearly all other mid-range systems of the era, had proprietary serial with uncommon twinaxial cables.
