I lived there for some time
"What's in this warehouse?" seemed 50/50 "some startup" "an artist community" and each were equally "weird but okay if that's who you are.."

19th and Harrison is one of the last bastions. But did they really demolish the old Cellspace? For art, most of the strongholds are gone.

I remember running an underground housing/couch placement service for college friends. You could get somewhere livable for $500

You can't just land in SF without means anymore (this is due in part I think to Airbnb). If you did, shelter in place. It's not as casual.

That makes sense. We had a friend literally go to an open house for us and drop off a check before we landed. But that was lucky/privilege.
