Why's it matter so much to them that you have a "real sounding" name? Their job is to give you your order by calling a name you recognize

Using a person's name can add a personal touch but if they're going to do it they need to not police names and spell/use correctly.
Agreed. I think in this case they found it striking that the only customer indoors during the eclipse happened to have my first name.
