      There was a cool youtube video on trans-atlantic (off-radar) flight that explained why airlines often fly in parallel. Can't find it... :-(

      With 10min corridor entry timing there's a pretty good chance of a plane flying next to you. I've definitely seen "neighbors" a few times.

      At least across CONUS odd flight levels (35kft eg) are for heading east & even (36k) for westbound.
