Hypercard was this from a different angle, as is Scratch (and before it, Cocoa). Maybe http://glitch.com can be me the next one
-
Have you ever used Scratch to teach someone to program? Like really sat down with a beginner and tried it? It demos well, but..
-
HyperCard, has been proposed here 3x now - exhuming it wouldn't work in today's software world. Making software has different meaning now
-
The Hypercard combined with QuickTime which was being built in 1997 before Jobs killed it could have been a different path.
-
I'm aware. I even used HyperCard myself as a preteen. I'm all for nostalgia, but I think it's more helpful to look forward.
-
We're bringing HyperCard baaaaaaaaack

Just sent you a stack

I wrote about a real spreadsheet I made last year: https://medium.com/@hondanhon/it-s-preschool-open-house-season-motherfuckers-6a1f8885cae0?source=linkShare-a3934ce98c61-1501458296 …

The point stands: the writing about the spreadsheet was funnier than the spreadsheet, I think, & would've reached more people
