I don't know, I hear a lot of vocal fry from men! Maybe because, as a coder, I hang out with more young men than young women.
Yeah so interpret this label as being someone who just doesn't want to hear women speak and IMO doesn't recognize that fry is very specific
Gotcha. I'd noticed it in coworkers, and associated it with age more than gender. My young daughters (8 and 6) haven't picked it up yet.
Also, this is Melbourne, Australia, not the US. I'll keep an ear out, though.
