How come we regulated the number of available taxis (eg public transit), but never the number of wealthy people's private cars in cities?
Singapore did an amazing job of exactly this. As a result a taxi anywhere is like $2USD and cars are rare and extremely fancy.

It's exactly what you want in that scale of area. Wish it were easier to motivate in a place with less geography pressure

Probaby a state issue, but SF should say that only X number of cars can be registered in city and combine with congestion pricing citywide.
