That's a "Mac User's Group" meetup. (Very rural place I grew up) it was my best shot at finding anyone else who cared about computers tbh.

Yeah it was a real "....thaaaaaanks" moment that I didn't really know how to parse at the time, "this was not meant for you" First of many.
Because as a kid you are accustomed to very generic swag gifts ("a book!" Etc) I was extremely puzzled "why would they choose this?"
