DJI Spark review: 1) it's tiiiny! 2) getting people to wave their arms like maniacs in front of a drone with "gesture mode(??)" is hilarious

Huh, this photo really made something click for me.
-
(sudden vision of my niece and nephew as teens with tiny drones just effortlessly accompanying them on trips, taking family photos, &c.)

We're getting there

Has any UI made moving around in 3D space clear or obvious?
-
Not really
-
"Can it see us? Do we have to point the camera down before putting it in gesture mode, or what happens? Is it in gesture mode now?"
-
"Do we have to press buttons when we start it up or can we just use the phone controller?"
-
"Can it see our faces? Whose face is it seeing? What if it doesn't work if you have sunglasses on? etc"

Should I get one?

Like overall yea esp if you're looking for a selfie drone, it's a fun toy
-
The true main best thing about DJI products is stability in wind/gust rejection. There are a bunch of other pixdrones just as fun for less $
-
I want something that takes decent pictures and is easy to fly. Bonus if hackable with a high-level language.
-
I think that this nails 1) and there are no good contenders for 2) or 3)
-
Well, the parrot drone takes pix and is pretty easy and hackable (node). But you don't want to fly that one outside.
