I believe there should be a road connecting these two great continents. The reasons that there isn't currently one are all infuriating.

The Darien gap is a break in the pan-American highway. If there were no gap, it would enable another avenue for commerce between continents

Currently you have to fly or take a ferry to get past the gap. The land is largely swamp. I believe that can be overcome with engineering.
