The @Mrch4ScienceBOS had experiments and games for kids, diverse speakers, v welcoming. I'd respectfully posit it did more good than harm.
Oh, that sounds very fun. But think of a kid in rural outskirts who now believes "I don't belong to science" / "it's not for me"

Would a science roadshow type event that toured rural areas be one answer? I agree with you completely that rural outreach is critical.

I'd love for the feeling at the march to reach more people, it's sad that it seems a zero sum game, inclusion of some = exclusion of others
