I tried Evernote maybe 6 times over the years, and everytime moved on. This time I've been using it 2+ years.

Wunderlist is also nice, but every TODO eventually become a place of shame and regret and must be cleansed with fire & sandalwood/dried sage

It’s sadly iOS / Mac only, but http://www.bear-writer.com/ is everything Ive wanted. Tags, markdown, sync. Left Evernote for it.
