I prefer just 'humans'. Tell it like it is.
In future I politely request the collective gender-neutral "babes" (rather than 'guys') — I feel it should apply to everyone pretty well

plural only, just like guys in American English. You wouldn't call her a guy, either.

I use "folks" often. "cool cats" if I'm feeling frisky. I'll have to try out "babes" sometime...
