      the physical reflex of eyes first expressing unbridled anger then contained, occurring very briefly & without verbal expression

      this can be a slight widening of the eyelid aperture, followed often by a slight squint to control, perhaps w/accompanying siccade

      I think the gleam off the fluid surface of the whites of ones eyes is responsible for the "flash"
