Twitter poll: when you read "his eyes flashed" in a story, what do you think that physically means?
-
-
this sequence is exactly what I picture
-
flashed isn't always associated with anger, but this gets at it! I want to take videos. Like the green flash
-
I think this could be really cool. Generalized: a video clip library of microexpressions, say (or even macro ones!)
-
imagine watching a film where each frame (or like n-grams say multi-second sequence) had been labeled
-
labeled with relevant emotional adjectives/adverbs
-
they show a lot of this kind of thing in Lie To Me (which is, otherwise, pretty indifferent TV).
-
but yes would be amazing to have this for real.
-
this could be an interesting data set to have for some ML applications. ML polygraph. scary

would love to see a slow motion video analysis of this. Also for "looking daggers".
-
Looking daggers seems clearer to me (just looking angry?) as metaphor. Flash purports something physical (I think?) & works w/many emotions
