the process of what you need to do is boost 12V to 24V and create a virtual ground at +12V, which the WeMo controls.

alternately depending on how heavy the door is, see if +/- 6V is tolerable, or buy a servo to use instead

it's a worm drive door so I suspect reducing voltage just means it opens more slowly.

then you have +12V and -12V to work with

note that I also need to be able to supply 0V (stop the motor). Maybe use a different WeMo switch for that :)
