So many different countries in the world have been able to leap to the leading edge of drone tech nearly all at once.

We wrote about this in @thebuzzerco #43 — States now competing to write more innovation-friendly laws http://blog.thebuzzer.co/post/128275559501/buzzer-43-this-email-is-diverse-innovative-and … (not the USA)

And calling this "innovation arbitrage" (!) which also feels like a new thing, a very global/modern/internet effect.

Also part of this is the speed at which laws and regulations are written/shared —

There are seemingly quite few places in the world you can look to that haven't created regulations governing drones.

Keep in mind — there was not even a drone section at CES 2014. This has expanded *so quickly*.

@starsandrobots Were these regulations not primarily driven by air safety concerns? Aviation authorities tend to move quickly on safety.

@psneeze it may be a subtle diff but I think regulations include a point addressing public safety

@psneeze that said drones are also a powerful technology and laws are like as not about getting control over what ppl can do with this

@starsandrobots Our (Ireland's) regs, part of aviation rules, are quite sensible. See https://www.iaa.ie/general-aviation/drones … This may change of course.
