Progress update here! Week 1—I scoured Forrest Mims' books for which projects I'll work up. Going to start out with seven initial projects.

I have a panel from the Octopart Card project https://www.crowdsupply.com/octopart/octopart-pocket-electronics-reference-pcb … I keep over my desk, to remind myself what a "fast" project is like.
-
I seem to have about 12 design iterations of that in EAGLE, & many more I prototyped other ways (Illustrator e.g.)
-
So, tl:dr; Hofstadter's Law is real, and iterating quickly is the path to perfection. Also I shld
get next boards back this wknd.

I've been reminded to note that this link exists if you want to sign up for an email about this when it's donehttp://crowdsupply.com/star-simpson/circuit-classics …

@starsandrobots Thankfully, desktop sized pcb mills and pick-n-place exist. Good setups for prototyping are $5-10k now and dropping. -
@299792456nelson I own an Othermill and I love it but it doesn't solve all my probs. Or actually any of the ones I'm working on now.
-
@starsandrobots Used an othermill once, wasn't super impressed. Waiting for@eliot to write up his#yolomill build https://twitter.com/eliot/status/658809687538663424 …This Tweet is unavailable.

@starsandrobots I think 3 iterations in 8 weeks is fast even for software — or those r some pretty minor/bad iterations
