Working on some hardware designs today. My next project is a dream come true for me, and for anyone who taught themselves to build circuits.

Feeling kind of pleased with progress so far & happy to have settled on an aesthetic which seems from here like the hardest part.

Week 8 my rev2 boards have shipped I *cannot* wait to see what they look like, I have never tried something like this before.
-
Just realized I have turned 3 completely distinct design iterations of this board in 8 weeks, from a cold start. Actually that's quite fast.
-
That is, 3 different design concepts for a board, each of which I have never tried before.
-
(Software people don't laugh! 2 weeks is even fast for a factory to turn a board. If you haven't, imagine a compile process involving USPS.)
-
I have a panel from the Octopart Card project https://www.crowdsupply.com/octopart/octopart-pocket-electronics-reference-pcb … I keep over my desk, to remind myself what a "fast" project is like.
-
I seem to have about 12 design iterations of that in EAGLE, & many more I prototyped other ways (Illustrator e.g.)
-
So, tl:dr; Hofstadter's Law is real, and iterating quickly is the path to perfection. Also I shld
get next boards back this wknd.

I've been reminded to note that this link exists if you want to sign up for an email about this when it's donehttp://crowdsupply.com/star-simpson/circuit-classics …
