And, my favorite system yet for SMT parts — the SMT clothesline. A line with several binder clips on it, for keeping bags of SMT parts.

You can keep the parts ordered by size/kind so lookup for finding what you need is very fast.

Keeping spools of wire on the line is also great, though I've seen at least one paper towel holder repurposed for this which was neat.

@joshu I love my IKEA desk a lot personally but I don't think it makes a good recommendation -

@starsandrobots supermarket bread racks are surprisingly good for space-efficient storage of in-progress soldering/assembly jobs -
@fctry2@starsandrobots FYI, PCB racks are inexpensive at office/lab furniture surplus shops in the south bay.
