Thinking about a trip to Singapore, Hong Kong/Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo this winter. Any tips?

@starsandrobots thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for. I can land in HK and enter Shenzhen without any trouble? -
@natfriedman you need a visa for travel to China. I've heard of people getting them at the border. Next level formality is Chunking Mansions -
@natfriedman where you can find a travel agent to process it for you while you enjoy HK, or alternately China consulate USA before you go -
@natfriedman (note if you're not a fairly adventurous traveler, China consulate or something like Peninsula Visa Service are prob way to go) -
@starsandrobots spent 2010 backpacking, so pretty adventurous, but have about a month before leaving so might as well get it here
