@starsandrobots do you know if GPIO is 5v like main power?

@dakami Er, I think they're 1.8V actually.. but e.g. the shields use bidirectional level shifters (or you'd use transistors for output-only) -
@starsandrobots do the shields ship with level shifters integrated? -
@dakami yes, at least the "IO Shield" does! A little buried, scroll down to 'bidirectional voltage-level translation' http://hardkernel.com/main/products/prdt_info.php?g_code=G138760240354&tab_idx=2 …

@starsandrobots I'm still sticking to my U2, which one are you playing with? -
@Kjellski I have a U3 here -
@starsandrobots that was what I was hoping for, any plans on trying OpenHAB with it? I would be interested in how well that works :) -
@Kjellski hah, interesting. No current plans though. -
@starsandrobots my bad, but nevermind, then I hope you'll just have as much fun with it as I had... :)

@starsandrobots@bobpoekert It costs three times as much. So not 'every' way. -
@Talen_Lee@starsandrobots 1.7ghz computer for $65, though! -
@bobpoekert@starsandrobots I am totally sure it's *great!* But if you're, say, buying 50 pis for schools, the price tag is noteworthy! -
@Talen_Lee@bobpoekert do you buy for schools? You'll be pressed to find a way to get a Pi to turn on for sticker price.
