@starsandrobots transit monopolies? There are 20 public transit agencies in the Bay Area, not counting the multiple bridge agencies.

@djcapelis lol? there's basically only one reasonable way to cross the bay bridge. BART owns that commute if you're not driving. -
@starsandrobots AC transit, ferries and our lovely odd casual carpool system all serve this route. -
@djcapelis you're right on this. What I mean: it seems that BART doesn't have incentive to serve customers, in the way monopolies don't. -
@starsandrobots Most people use clipper cards or refill using TVMs on the other side of the gate. Not sure capital should go to upgrades. -
@djcapelis I think capital should go to upgrades on the grounds that BART is the second-worst transit system I've ever seen. -
@starsandrobots@djcapelis ok. Now I have to ask.

@quinzee everything I've learned about the alternate civic transit futures of the bay area have been tragic tales, basically.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@starsandrobots I think I would prefer one unified Bay Area Transit Agency. -
@djcapelis do you mean unified management? who does transit best? does Clipper not abstract this sufficiently? -
@starsandrobots It totally doesn’t. Would love unified planning and better utilization of scale.

@starsandrobots seriously though, what do you think should be@SFBART's priorities? I'd take the new seats before better add fare machines. -
@noahlt I think my first issue here is that SFBART doesn't even feel compelled to sound nice or responsive to concerns in public. -
@starsandrobots Yeah, in general government agencies are bad at communicating with the public. Which probably hides a lot of their good work
